Am I in a GLP-1 Plateau?

If the scale hasn't moved in weeks on Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, or Saxenda, this quick checker tells you whether you're likely looking at a real plateau — and what's actually worth trying next.

Educational tool only. Not medical advice, and not a diagnosis. Always talk to your prescriber before changing your dose or treatment.

Plateau Checker

Only count weeks since your last dose increase.
Use the same unit (lb or kg) for both weights.

This tool applies a common, published working definition of a weight-loss plateau (roughly under 1% change in body weight over several weeks at a stable dose). It's meant to help you have a more informed conversation with your prescriber — it cannot diagnose anything or tell you whether to change your dose.

Why GLP-1 plateaus happen

A slowdown in weight loss on semaglutide or tirzepatide is one of the most common experiences people report, especially once you've been at your highest tolerated dose for a while. It happens for a mix of reasons: your body's energy needs drop as you lose weight (so the same calorie intake becomes relatively less of a deficit), appetite suppression can plateau even while the drug is still working exactly as intended, and factors like sleep, stress, and resistance training start to matter more than they did in the first few months.

The most important thing to know: a plateau is not the same as the medication failing. For a full breakdown of what typically helps, see our guide on how to break a GLP-1 plateau.

Considering a change of provider or a dose review?

If you've been stuck for several weeks despite the basics above, it may be worth a conversation with a telehealth weight-management provider about your options.

  • Ro — GLP-1 program with physician oversight Learn more

Ro's Body membership pairs a GLP-1 prescription with ongoing provider support — message your care team anytime, get help with dose adjustments, and lean on their team to navigate insurance authorization (Ro states this typically takes 2-3 weeks). A first dose is generally available in under a week if you're paying cash, or around two weeks going through insurance. Medication cost is billed separately from the membership and depends on your specific drug and coverage.

  • Found — coaching + medical weight management Learn more

Found combines a prescription (GLP-1 or otherwise, based on what a clinician thinks fits you) with monthly check-ins and in-app coaching support. Pricing varies quite a bit by plan: cash plans start around $169/month including compounded medication, brand-name options like Wegovy or Zepbound run substantially more, and some Medicare Part D members pay as little as $50/month. If approved, medication typically ships within about a week of your initial health assessment.

  • PlushCare — same-week telehealth appointments Learn more

PlushCare offers same-day video appointments seven days a week and accepts major insurance plans (including Aetna, Humana, and Cigna), handling prior authorization for you — typically a 7-14 business day process. With insurance, membership runs $19.99/month (first month free) plus your normal copay; paying cash, expect a $129 initial visit with medication and lab costs billed on top.
